Aziz bin Farhan al-Anzi is a contemporary Islamic scholar and educator specializing in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and Islamic propagation (da'wah).

Biography and Career

His full name is Aziz bin Farhan bin Muhammad al-Hablani al-Anzi. In academia, he served as an assistant professor of fiqh at King Saud University. He also held institutional and educational roles in the United Arab Emirates, where he served as director of the Center for Dawah and Guidance in Dubai and as chairman of the Academic Committee of the Board of Trustees at Al Qasimia University.

Al-Anzi's scholarship encompasses Islamic legal consensus and the methodology of Islamic propagation. In 1425 AH (2004–2005 CE), he completed al-Basira fi al-Da‘wa ila Allah (Insight in Calling to Allah), organizing the treatise around two main themes: discernment regarding the substance of what the caller advocates, and insight into the conditions and appropriate methods for addressing audiences. The treatise received praise from the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Dawah and Guidance, Salih bin Abdulaziz Al al-Shaykh, who commended its integration of academic methodology with practical implementation. In legal research, al-Anzi prepared the section on consensus in gratuitous contracts and inheritance (Masa'il al-Ijma' fi Abwab al-Tabarru'at wa-l-Fara'id) as part of the collaborative project Mawsu'at al-Ijma' fi al-Fiqh al-Islami. In Rajab 1443 AH, he provided a foreword and assessment for Ghazi bin Salim Aflah's hadith commentary Rayy al-Zam'an bi-Majalis Shu'ab al-Iman.
