Academic Background and Scholarship

Salih completed his master's degree in Islamic jurisprudence and its principles (al-fiqh wa-usuluh) at the University of Jordan in 1417 AH / 1996 CE. His thesis, titled Athar Taʿlil al-Nass ʿala Dalalatih (The Impact of Textual Rationalization on Its Indication, also known as al-ʿIlla wa-l-Nass), examined how identifying the underlying legal rationale (ʿilla) and divine wisdoms behind scriptural rulings affects textual and semantic interpretation. The treatise was published in Amman by Dar al-Maʿali in 1420 AH / 1999 CE, and he later issued an electronic edition from Doha in Rabiʿ al-Thani 1437 AH / January 2016 CE.
