Amr Kamil Umar is a contemporary Islamic researcher and writer, known for his critical study Hisan Turuwada: al-Ghara al-Fikriyya ala al-Diyar al-Sunniyya ("The Trojan Horse: The Intellectual Raid on the Sunni Lands") .

Research and reception

Umar conducted five years of research and source examination to compile his extensive study examining ideological, political, and theological challenges affecting Sunni Islam . Structured around the metaphor of the Trojan horse, the work analyzes politicized dialogues and rapprochement efforts with Western, Christian, and Twelver Shi'ite doctrinal movements .

The first edition of the book was published by Dar al-Affani . Although encouraged by Muhammad ibn Musa al-Sharif to abridge the treatise for broader readability, Umar chose to maintain and expand its detailed scope as a comprehensive reference text, finalizing a revised edition in Safar 1435 AH (December 2013 CE) . The work received written commendations from contemporary scholars, including Ahmad al-Sisi, who praised its thoroughness and source documentation, and al-Sharif, who commended its historical examination of ideological pressures facing the Muslim world .
