Al-Qarni gained recognition primarily through his oral delivery and widely circulated audio recordings, which address themes of repentance, biographies of the Prophet's companions, and moral instruction . Transcriptions of his lectures were compiled in Durūs li-al-Shaykh ʿAlī al-Qarnī (Lessons of Sheikh Ali al-Qarni), which includes prominent series such as Hākadhā ʿAllamatnī al-Ḥayāh (Thus Life Taught Me) delivered in Mecca, as well as standalone discourses like ʿAlā al-Ṭarīq (On the Path) . When asked about his literary output and whether he maintained a published collection of verse (dīwān), he disclaimed being a poet, noting that he merely composed occasional lines to conclude his gatherings and sermons .
