Akram al-Dulaimi (full name: Akram Abd Khalifah Hamad al-Dulaimi) is a contemporary Iraqi scholar of Quranic sciences and Hadith, best known for his analytical treatise on the compilation of the Quran, Jam al-Quran: Dirasa Tahliliyya li-Marwiyatihi (The Collection of the Quran: An Analytical Study of Its Narrations) .

Academic Career and Methodology

Al-Dulaimi pursued his higher Islamic studies at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Baghdad, where he prepared his academic dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Umar Mahmud Husayn al-Samarra'i .

His research was published in Beirut by Dar al-Kutub al-Ilmiyyah in 1427 AH / 2006 CE as Jam al-Quran: Dirasa Tahliliyya li-Marwiyatihi in a single volume of 342 pages . Structurally organized into an introduction, four main chapters, and a conclusion, the work examines the written recording and compilation of the Quran across three historical eras—the Prophetic era, the caliphate of Abu Bakr, and the caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan—before addressing polemical objections and doubts raised regarding the Quranic text in its fourth chapter . Scholarly assessments of al-Dulaimi's approach note that while his study engages both Quranic studies and Hadith, his methodology leans closer to Hadith scholarship and chain-of-transmission analysis (isnad evaluation), presenting concise source attribution (takhrij) and rulings on the historical narrations .
