Ahmad Muhammad al-Dhabib is a Saudi academic, bibliographer, and researcher known for his contributions to the documentation of Arabian Peninsula scholarship, notably through his bibliographic work Athar al-Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (The Works of Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab).

Academic Career and Contribution

Al-Dhabib served as the Dean of Library Affairs at Riyadh University. His scholarship focused on documentation, indexing, and the systematic preservation of regional intellectual history.

His primary bibliographic project, compiled in Riyadh in 1396 AH (1976 CE) and first published in 1397 AH (1977 CE), provided an extensive record of the published writings of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab alongside studies and commentaries written about him. Al-Dhabib considered this undertaking a foundational step toward establishing a comprehensive national bibliography and cataloging the heritage of the Arabian Peninsula, noting the patronage and support of Hasan ibn Abd Allah Al al-Shaykh, then Minister of Higher Education and Supreme President of the Universities. The work later saw subsequent printings, including a publication by Dar al-Marikh.
