Ahmad al-Jada (d. 1433 AH / 2012 CE) was an Islamic author and writer known for his biographical and historical work Fida'iyyun min 'asr al-rasul (Commandos from the Era of the Messenger) .

Authorship and perspective

Al-Jada wrote Fida'iyyun min 'asr al-rasul to present Islamic precedents for military sacrifice and covert operations drawn from the life of the Prophet Muhammad and his Companions . In the introduction to the first edition, composed in 1979 CE, he cautioned contemporary Muslim fighters against adopting foreign doctrines or taking non-Muslim figures as models for commando operations, advocating instead a return to the methodology of the early Islamic generation .

Initially focusing on the missions and biographies of three Companions, al-Jada expanded the book by the fourth edition—penned in Amman in Dhu al-Qi'dah 1404 AH (1984 CE)—to include three additional figures, covering six Companions in total alongside an analysis of the martial traditions, battle slogans, war poems (arājīz), and honorific titles used during the early Islamic military campaigns .
