Abu Muawiya al-Bayruti (Mazin ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Bihsali al-Bayruti) is a contemporary Lebanese researcher and hadith scholar based in Beirut, best known for reconstructing the surviving teacher biographies of al-Hakim al-Naysaburi from his lost history Tarikh Naysabur .
Scholarly Contributions and Editorial Work
Abu Muawiya, whose full name is Mazin ibn Abd al-Rahman al-Bihsali al-Bayruti (also referenced in some bibliographies as Abu Muadh) , has focused his scholarly output on hadith studies, biographical literature, and the critical editing of Islamic texts.
Given the loss of the original manuscript of al-Hakim al-Naysaburi's major local history Tarikh Naysabur, al-Bayruti undertook the reconstruction of its seventh class (Tabaqat Shuyukh al-Hakim), gathering scattered entries, transmissions, and biographical notices concerning al-Hakim's teachers from later historical and biographical sources, prefacing the work with a comprehensive biography of al-Hakim . He completed this compilation in Beirut in Safar 1427 AH (2006 CE) .
In related historical studies, he authored Tarikh al-Muhaddithin li-Mudun al-Mashriq wa-al-Sham (History of Hadith Scholars for the Cities of the East and the Levant), published in Beirut in 1428 AH (2007 CE) . He also edited Hafiz ibn Ahmad al-Hakami's creedal commentary Ma'arij al-Qabul, which was published in 1426 AH (2005 CE) , alongside participating in reviewing and proofreading works for contemporary researchers .

List of Works
Tarikh Naysabur: Tabaqat Shuyukh al-Hakim (The History of Nishapur: The Class of al-Hakim's Teachers) is a reconstructed biographical collection. The work gathers the surviving entries and transmissions of the seventh generation—comprising the teachers of the hadith master al-Hakim al-Naysaburi—from his otherwise lost local history Tarikh Naysabur.
