Abduh al-Rajihi (d. 1431 AH / 2010 CE) was a modern scholar of the Arabic language and grammarian, known for his pedagogical manuals on Arabic syntax and morphology, including al-Tatbiq al-Nahwi and al-Tatbiq al-Sarfiyy.

Scholarly Contribution

Al-Rajihi focused on applied Arabic linguistics, producing instructional curricula to facilitate the study of grammatical and morphological rules for students. In al-Tatbiq al-Nahwi (Applied Syntax), he formulated an applied pedagogical method to train university students in sentence structure and grammatical parsing (iʿrāb), emphasizing functional sentence analysis rather than theoretical subfield debates. Alongside his work on syntax, he authored al-Tatbiq al-Sarfiyy (Applied Morphology) to provide a parallel practical framework for the study of Arabic morphology.
