Life and Contributions

Abd Allah was the son of the scholar Saad bin Abd al-Aziz bin Abd al-Rahman al-Ruwayshid. He engaged in literary and religious writing, authoring a notable prose elegy titled Fajiʿat mamlaka fi shaykh al-qadaʾ wa-qadi al-ʿulamaʾ ("The Tragedy of a Kingdom over the Shaykh of the Judiciary and Judge of the Scholars") on the occasion of the death of the prominent Saudi scholar and head of the judiciary, alongside his father who contributed an elegy titled Faqid al-Islam.

In his treatise Haqiqat Dawat al-Imam al-Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab al-Salafiyya ("The Reality of the Salafi Call of Imam Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab"), al-Ruwayshid framed the mission of Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab as a significant religious reform effort in the modern Muslim world dedicated to reviving pure monotheism (tawhid) and purifying practice from superstition and idolatrous accretions. He emphasized the enduring generational impact of this educational and religious revival across two centuries.
