Scholarly Activity and Editorial Efforts
Abd al-Wafi, who also signed his name as Rida Allah Abd al-Wafi al-Mukhtar al-Susi, undertook the task of documenting and preparing the works left behind by his father following the latter's death on November 17, 1963 CE (1383 AH). He compiled Dalil Mu'allafat Mukhtar al-Susi (Guide to the Works of Mukhtar al-Susi), a concise bibliographic guide designed to provide an overview and short description of all of his father's published and unpublished writings and manuscripts. In the preface to its second edition, he noted that the reissue was prompted by significant demand, while describing the material constraints and obstacles encountered in bringing his father's complete writings to print.
In addition to this bibliography, he saw through the publication of his father's historical treatises on the educational and scholarly institutions of southern Morocco, including Madaris Sus al-Atiqah (The Traditional Schools of Sus), published in Tangier in 1407 AH (1987 CE), and Rijalat al-Ilm al-Arabi fi Sus (Figures of Arabic Learning in Sus), published there in 1409 AH (1989 CE).
