Abd al-Salam al-Husayn (fl. 1425–1429 AH / 2004–2008 CE) is a contemporary bibliographic scholar, best known for his catalog Qa'ima bi-Mu'allafat Shaykh al-Islam al-Matbu'a (List of Published Works of Shaykh al-Islam) .

Identity and Scholarship

His full lineage is Abd al-Salam ibn Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al-Husayn . His scholarly contribution centers on Islamic bibliography and the heritage of Ibn Taymiyyah . In compiling his index of Ibn Taymiyyah's printed works, he situated his effort within a long tradition of documenting the author's extensive treatises, tracing earlier catalogs from early students such as Ibn Rushayyiq to modern researchers .

His methodology restricted the catalog strictly to published writings that he had directly examined, excluding uninspected manuscripts and lost titles . He adopted the standard collection Majmu' al-Fatawa assembled by Ibn Qasim as his primary baseline, indexing each treatise's placement within it alongside other major compendia and standalone editions . He concluded the initial drafting of this work in Ras al-Khaimah in Rabi' al-Thani 1425 AH (2004 CE), and later reviewed and updated it in al-Ahsa in Rabi' al-Thani 1429 AH (2008 CE) .
